Mother's Day!

Today has been a wonderful day!  I was greeted by heart shaped pancakes for breakfast, I have such a sweet husband.  He watched Grayson and let me sleep in a little while he cooked.  Then church this morning was nice as well, then we came home and Derek cooked some taco's (San Antonio street-taco style).  They were a delicious lunch, and having some time off from mommy-ing this evening and watching a movie with the girls was an added bonus.  My hubby really spoiled me today!

My Mother's day really began yesterday when we started out with sailing (yard sailing) around base and found some really good finds.  Derek bought a pair of fins for float tubing in the lakes and such here.  We also got some rugs that are actually from Italy (the couple we bought them from were stationed in Italy) and they are beautiful.  Grayson's favorite find was a Leap Frog play table.  We got a steal of a deal, only paid $9 when they originally sell for $40-50.  It lights up and plays all kinds of music, so Grayson is totally entranced.  Then later in the afternoon we went over to Ogden where we walked along a beautiful river, which is currently raging with all the melting snow still on the mountains.  Dinner at a BBQ place in the gorgeous historic district of Ogden topped off the whole evening.  However, I forgot the camera at home for this fun little venture, sorry so pictures will have to come later.  Darn...we'll just have to go again.

Grayson loving this new toy!

Friday was also pretty eventful.  I went to a case lot sale at the commissary, which apparently is a very common thing here, as Thursday when they opened there were at least 200 people in line.  I decided to wait until Friday morning when most people would be at work.  I bought several non-perishables that are discounted 30%-50% from commissary prices (it felt awesome to save so much!).  So Friday when Derek got off we went to Lowes and bought some wood to create shelving in a funky nook in the garage.  It makes great storage for the stuff I bought as well as some other boxes.  A couple of the guys from the shop came over and played with tools, the guys had a good time!

The random nook...stroller in
the bottom, then loads
of space above.
This is an extra bookshelf
that is in the garage, and now
is packed with food.

We got in one family picture before Grayson just couldn't
take it anymore, he was more than ready for a nap.

With all of this fun and excitement, the best part of my Mother's Day was this snuggle moment!  Grayson took a great nap, then wasn't ready to wake up.  He is my favorite snuggle bug!

Best Mother's day gift EVER!!!
